Advancing Knowledge Through Information Technology
The rapidly changing world of information technology (IT) mandates the development of interactive computer-based systems that aid users in employing a combination of data, documents, decision-support tools, knowledge, and models to identify and assess alternatives, make decisions, and solve problems. Informatics focuses on methods that combine scientific data and models and render their results specific to a problem.
The impact on USACE, the U.S. Army, and the Nation is to:
- Avoid duplication of effort,
- Enable efficient resource allocation,
- Share technology and strategies, and
- Improve value of ERDC products.
